Message Types

Message Types are a set of domain values that describe different categories of messages that Event Registration Manager will e-mail or display for constituents who register for an event. 

IMPORTANT: For Event Messages that are Emails you MUST request that RuffaloCODY set up the friendly From name and From email address that will be displayed to the recipients of these email messages

When setting up an event record, you will assign these custom messages:

  • Capacity Message is the message that will be displayed to the registrant on the registration website when he or she attempts to register for an event for which the capacity has already been reached. You may wish to use this option to refer interested participants to a different event, or to encourage them to contact a particular office for more information.
  • Confirmation Message is the message that will be emailed to the constituent if any of the following conditions occur:
    • The Registration status changes from "Waitlisted Registrant" to "Registered"
    • The Request Status on the Registrant Special Request changes from "Pending" to "Approved".
    • The Registration was a Manual (Staff Registration) and the staff member wants to send them a "confirmation". NOTE: The constituent does not have to have a Request

Note: The Confirmation Message is not intended as a general confirmation message to all registrants. It is specifically intended to convey information to registrants that have requests that have been confirmed, that they have been taken off the wait list or that their manual registration was completed.  

  • Host Confirmation Email Message  is the message that will be emailed to hosts after they have been assigned to specific event requests.
  • Registration Card Message is the message that appears on the report that can be run from the Registration page to summarize the itinerary for a single registration.
  • Request Description Message appears on the Requests tab on the registration website above where all selected requests are listed. The message describes how to add events and can give additional guidance on choosing requests.   
  • Request Instructions Message appears on the Requests form on the registration website and in the manual registration. This message gives additional information to constituents making requests. For example, if "Airport pick-up" is available as a request, the Request Message might say "If you request Airport pick-up, please enter your airline, flight number, and arrival date/time in the Notes field."
  • Session Instructions appears on the Sessions form on the registration website and in the manual registration. This message gives additional information to constituents about a session.
  • Thanks Email Message is the message that will be emailed to constituents and CC'd to guests immediately upon successful submission of their registration via the online calendar. The thanks email message indicates that the registration has been received, but may say that the constituent should wait for further notice that any requests have been confirmed. This message will also be sent to Registrants that were previously Waitlisted Registrants, but have since been updated to confirmed Event Registrations.
  • Thanks Page Message is the message that will be displayed on a web page that the registrants will see immediately upon successful completion of their registration. The thanks page message indicates that the registration has been submitted, but may say that the constituent should wait for further notice that any requests have been confirmed. It can also include any additional information or instructions you want to convey to the constituent.
  • Reminder Email is the message that will be emailed to constituents x days before the event, if defined for this event.
  • Waitlisted Thanks Email is the message that will be emailed to constituents, upon registration of an Event, letting them know that they are waitlisted for this event.
  • Waitlisted Thanks Message is the message that will be displayed on a web page that Waitlisted registrants will see immediately upon successful completion of their registration. The Waitlisted Thanks Message indicates that the registration has been submitted, but advised the constituent that they should wait for further notice that registration has been confirmed.
  • Cancellation Email is the message that will be emailed to the constituent after their registration has been cancelled.
  • Password Reminder Message is the message that will be emailed to constituents to remind them of their password.
