Initial Email Setup

Before using Enrollment Manager Email Marketing, you should provide some information to your IT staff to ensure email deliverability. Since you'll be sending email FROM your organization domain (like using Enrollment Manager domain servers (, some permissions need to be put in place to assure good deliverability. Feel free to pass this information on to your local IT staff.
Several different authentication standards exist and we recommend using both SPF and DKIM. Here is a brief description of each.

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a DNS entry which shows a list of servers that should be considered allowed to send mail for a specific domain. By creating this DNS record, (our domain) is authorized to send messages from (your domain).

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a method of ‘signing’ every message with a private key indicating that the content is authentic. By publishing this key on your domain, you are providing an extra layer of authentication so when email servers see the message, they check the key in the email against the key at

To setup the authentication, add the following records into the DNS of your domain. Make sure you substitute “” with the domain name for which you want to setup authentication. You can verify that you have set this up correctly by going to and testing your domain.

Sender Policy Framework (SPF)

Add a new TXT record to the DNS of that looks like:
v=spf1 ~all
Note: If your domain is dedicated for Enrollment Manager emails only, it is better to use a -all at the end of the TXT record, instead of ~all.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)

Add a new CNAME record to the DNS of that looks like: CNAME
If your system does not accept this alias (perhaps due to the underscore “_”), try entering the following
instead: CNAME
If your system still does not accept it, try entering the following TXT record:
Record name = ""
Record type = TXT
Record value = "k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCyGF0xzO7Eig1H8QdIErjEKOGnIVvoLU5VjcMRBRWZK65NinL+gVnjuMD2mYdjC3f+7sQCWxGDSKIFn/bB+iXxO2x1/ktkwXHQfQ/9FcFuy+LE0Snsm0SwXN/2l1m5f9e1xdswC+dzHt6DIpDSDENsRal019YKQTqwVyB++7QORwIDAQAB"
